TOMMIE CROZIER

Welcome to our site dedicated to the journey of an independent Winston Cup driver.

For Tommie Crozier's final two Cup races that took place during the 1989 season he raced this 1987 Banjo Chassis (BP8720R) purpose built road-course Monte Carlo at Pocono and Dover Motor Speedway. Harry Gant drove this race car for Mach 1 Racing during the 1987 and 1988 season at road courses. Crozier purchased it directly from Burt Reynolds at the end of the 1988 season (pictures below of the car the day Crozier purchased it). Upon retiring from racing Crozier put the car away in his garage for many years. The car underwent a mechanical and cosmetic restoration at Rhine Enterprises in Denver, NC in order to preserve its as-raced condition. The Skoal green is still visible in the engine compartment, underneath, and other areas.
